Moral Courage- Design Your Own Homework

You are going to design your own homework assignment!!! Choose one of the topics below to create an assignment or mini-project that will be due next Wednesday. You can add to, change, or combine any of the ideas below. Be sure to write down your idea design and bring it into class on Thursday 10/23. You can have a partner but be sure to have enough work for two people to do. You should focus your ideas around the following areas; theme, character, or setting.

*Draw a character from the book be artistic!!!
*Make a 3-D model of a scene
*Take a scene of the book and write it into a script for a play.
*Write a letter as David to another character in the book
*create a Journal from one of the characters in the book
*create a podcast to express the voice of the Polish Jews during the time of the book
*Find a creative way to share some learning of either Polish, Yiddish, German, or Russian to the class
*Write a headline and article from a newspaper that might occur during the time period of the book.
*Create a map of David's travels
*Create a recipe book that relates to the book
*Make a chart showing how the Nazis mistreated the Jews in the book
*Create a slide show of pictures from the time period.
*Make a play list of music from the time period of the memoir.
*Create a movie that shows a scene from the book
*Make a scrapbook
*Create a comic book to retail the story
*Make a mosaic from a scene or character
*Perform a play or skit to display a scene or major event in the book

The Wave Reflection

Now that you have read the novel The Wave, you have an understanding of how people can be influence by the whole group and give up some of their individual thinking. Please respond to one of the below Essential Questions. Use the book, your own life or the lives of others to give examples to explain your reasoning. This post should be (200 words)

Essential Questions:
1. How does the need to belong and be accepted by others cloud our judgment and keep people from making good choices?
2. Why do people have a natural inclination to look for a leader?
3. Is it worth trading equality for freedom?
